Two days removed from the birth of his first child, Mark Rogers was activated from the paternity list to start Wednesday’s game against the Rockies.
To make room for him on the active roster, the Brewers sent shortstop Jeff Bianchi to Triple-A Nashville.
Occupying the fifth spot in the rotation while Shaun Marcum recovers from elbow tightness that has sidelined him for two months, Rogers has been inconsistent since joining the rotation on July 29. In his first and last performance, Rogers allowed just two runs and one run, respectively. Sandwiched in between those two games, however, was a five-inning, five-run effort against St. Louis.
Overall for the season, Rogers boasts a 4.08 ERA with one loss to his name.
