DETROIT -- Texas centerfielder Dan Robertson left Thursday afternoon's game against the Tigers with a head injury after a collision with rightfielder Alex Rios.

In the third inning, with Texas leading 5-0, former Ranger Ian Kinsler blooped a ball into right-centerfield. Both Robertson and Rios went for the ball, with Robertson trying to make a diving catch as Rios tried to slide in for the grab.

The pair collided, with Rios' knee striking Robertson near the jaw. Rios immediately bounced back up, retrieved the ball and threw in to hold Kinsler to a double, but Robertson remained lying on his face. He appeared to be conscious and was moving his legs, but he stayed down for several minutes while he was attended by the Texas training staff.

Robertson was eventually able to leave the field under his own power, and was replaced by Leonys Martin in centerfield. He was taken to a local hospital where X-rays and concussion tests were negative, but he was being held for observation.
