Road to ACC Title Game May Get Twisty; Tiebreakers, Fate Will Determine Matchup

Breaking a tie never seemed so difficult.
If three teams are tied atop the Coastal Division at the end of the
regular season, get ready for a series of tiebreakers to determine who advances
to the Atlantic Coast Conference title game.
Virginia sits in first place, but most believe the race is among Miami,
Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech because they all have yet to play the Cavaliers.
If the Hurricanes, Hokies and Yellow Jackets win out, they will end the
season with one league loss.
Each team is 1-1 in games among the trio, eliminating the head-to-head
factor.
It gets a little sketchy, but here's a look at the scenarios needed so
the Hurricanes can punch their first ticket to the ACC championship game in Tampa. The losers, meanwhile,
will miss out on the game despite potentially being ranked in the Top 10.
The simple way
UM needs Virginia Tech to be eliminated from the equation.
If the Hokies lose another league game, the Hurricanes can breathe a
little easier. This would put them in control of their destiny.
If the Hurricanes win the remainder, they can make reservations for
Tampa. UM would have better conference records than the Hokies and Cavaliers and
own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Yellow Jackets.
