The Minnesota Wild's impressive run since the All-Star break now includes a franchise record.

Minnesota came through in the third period for the second straight game and won its eighth straight road game by beating the Nashville Predators 3-2 in overtime. Similar to Saturday in St. Louis, the Wild were down and the opponent was controlling play before Minnesota found itself in the third period.

The Wild outshot Nashville 11-6 in the third after being outshot 21-9 the first two periods. Charlie Coyle scored with less than seven minutes remaining to tie the score and Matt Dumba scored his first NHL overtime goal for the Wild just 22 seconds into the extra session.

Minnesota set a franchise record with its eighth consecutive road win and is 8-2-0 in its last 10 games.

Third periods have been a key in the resurgence. The Wild have outscored opponents 13-2 in the third in the last 10 games.

THREE STARS

1. Coyle, F, Wild: Coyle had struggled to put points on the board during Minnesota's second-half run. He entered Tuesday with one goal in the past 18 games. Coyle secured his second career two-goal game and pushed the game into overtime.

Coyle crashed the net and was in position to tip home a loose puck in the first period. Trailing 2-1, Coyle received a perfect cross-ice pass from Chris Stewart and had a big slap shot for his second goal of the game and 10th of the season in the third.

2. Dumba, D, Wild: Coyle's score helped set up Dumba for the overtime theatrics. Dumba played a strong all-around game Tuesday and then sent everyone home with his heavy shot.

Ryan Suter had worked in the defensive zone to keep the play alive and send the puck forward. Zach Parise carried the puck into the offensive zone and then dropped it for Dumba, who blasted the puck past Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne.

Dumba's emergence continues. He played 21 minutes, 8 seconds in the game, blocked a team-high five shots, had one takeaway, three shots and his seventh goal of the season.

3. Roman Josi, D, Predators: Josi is one of the league's top scoring defensemen and appeared ready to end the Wild's road winning streak with a second-period flurry. Josi scored twice in the span of 65 seconds to erase Coyle's goal and put Nashville ahead.

Seen: After taking a 2-1 lead, the Predators could have really taken control when they got a 5-on-3 power play late in the second period. With Dumba serving a penalty, Jordan Leopold was called for a delay of game, giving Nashville a two-man advantage for 53 seconds.

The Predators had four shots on the power play but Minnesota killed off both penalties to seize a bit of momentum. Nashville was 0 of 4 on the power play. The Wild have now killed 60 of the past 63 power plays for opponents in the past 23 games.

Said: "We know we're never going to play a perfect game, especially playing on the road. It's tough in their building to get some momentum. I think we just talked about weathering the storm and just giving a push right back to them. That's what we did." -- Coyle

Next: A quick trip to Nashville is followed by two home games. Minnesota returns home Thursday against the Washington Capitals. The Wild won the first game of the series between the two teams, 2-1, in Washington on March 5. The Capitals are one of two teams who haven't won at the Xcel Energy Center, going 0-6-1 in seven games.

Minnesota hosts St. Louis on Saturday.
