Report: Texas Tech football player hit by bus
Texas Tech safety Austin Stewart was hit by a bus on campus Wednesday morning in Lubbock, according to a report by The Dallas Morning News.
Stewart was crossing the street when he was struck and was transported to the University Medical Center where team physicians and trainers checked Stewart for injuries at the facility. A tweet by Stewart's roommate, Texas Tech linebacker Chris Payne, stated that Stewart was riding a scooter at the time he was hit.
Team spokesman Blayne Beal told the Morning News that the injuries at this time are considered minor.
Payne tweeted out a picture of the shattered front window of the bus where the impact occurred.
Stewart is entering his first season at Texas Tech after transferring from Pierce Junior College in Los Angeles.
