In football, they say the tape doesn't lie.
The same can be said for 911 calls.
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was accused of leaving the scene of an accident last week by the driver of the other vehicle, Steve Vines.
Suh and Vines were involved in a fender-bender the morning of Oct. 11 near the Lions' practice facility in Allen Park.
WJBK-TV, the FOX television affiliate in Detroit, is now reporting that Suh actually called 911 before Vines did to report the incident.
Suh called at 6:28 a.m.
"I have a guy that just cut me off and I tried to go around him, and now he tried to hit me when I went around him after he cut me off," Suh said during the call. "I don't trust this person. I just took his license plate. I'm a Detroit Lion and I'm going to take myself to work, which is right here, and can the police meet me there, please?"
Vines, meanwhile, called at 6:29, according to police records.
"I just got sideswiped by a guy really bad, and he's trying to take off," Vines told the 911 dispatcher. "He just left the scene and took off through the light and pulled in the training facility."
Police closed the case after calling it a minor accident in which fault couldn't be determined. There were no arrests or tickets issued.
