The Houston Rockets are prepared to let Carmelo Anthony wear a No. 7 jersey, and they might be ready to ship their current No. 7 to Philadelphia.
According to SB Nation's Jake Fischer, the Rockets have been in talks with the Sixers about trading point guard Jeremy Lin.
Houston already sent Omer Asik to the Pelicans and will likely have to let Lin go in order to free up enough cap space to sign Anthony or another big free-agent this summer.
Lin is owed $8.37 million for the final year of his three-year, $25.1 million deal with the Rockets he got in 2012.
Anthony met with the Rockets on Wednesday and was greeted with photos of himself in a Houston uniform wearing Lin's number.
