Report: Rangers trying to arrange visit with free-agent Beltran
The Texas Rangers are looking to make a splash in the free-agent market this offseason, and one of their main targets, Carlos Beltran, is reportedly soon going to make a visit to Dallas according to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News.
Beltran, who has played the last two season with the St. Louis Cardinals, is a 16-year veteran and is reportedly being sought by several other American League clubs.
In recent years, the Rangers have brought in free-agents Yu Darvish and Joe Nathan for combination visits and recruiting pitches with both of course signing with the team. Texas is hoping for similar results with this year's potential guest list of Beltran, Shin-Soo Choo and Brian McCann.
Beltran, who helped lead the Cardinals to the World Series last season-- the outfielder's first-- has batted .333 with 16 homers and 40 RBI in 10 postseason series in his career.
Along with St. Louis, Beltran has also played for the Royals, Astros, Mets and Giants.
