Report: Longhorns to replace Greg Davis as OC

Mack Brown and Greg Davis are parting ways after spending much of the past 25 years on the sideline together, according to a report Wednesday.

Davis, 59, will be replaced as the Longhorns' offensive coordinator, LonghornsDigest.com is reporting, quoting anonymous sources. No official announcement has been made by the university, nor is one planned for Wednesday, according to the website.

Davis will remain on the staff in a non-coaching role, the report said. No candidates for a replacement have been mentioned. Davis has served the same position at Texas since 1998, when he and Mack Brown came from North Carolina.

Brown has traditionally been loyal to his assistants and has kept them on staff despite heavy criticism. This year, however, Texas went through a disappointing 5-7 season and finished last in the Big 12 South. It was the worst mark of Brown
