The Cavaliers have come to terms on a one-year contract with veteran guard James Jones, according to a report by the Akron Beacon Journal.

Jones and the Cavs have not yet signed the deal, but the terms are in place, the newspaper reported.

Jones, 33, spent the previous seven of his 11-year pro career with the Heat. He played in just 20 games last season and averaged 4.9 points. According to FOX Sports Ohio sources, LeBron James helped in recruiting Jones to the Cavs.

Cavs general manager David Griffin has now signed James, Mike Miller and Jones to free-agent contracts this summer.

Former Heat guard Ray Allen is also said to still be on the Cavs' radar. Allen is contemplating whether or not to retire. If he plays, sources believe it will be with James and the Cavs.

Jones is a career 40-percent shooter on 3-pointers. He shot 52 percent beyond the arc last season.
