The same week pitchers and catchers report for spring training in Arizona, the Reds announced the opening of a new exhibit at the team hall of fame in Cincinnati.
"Kings of the Queen City" is set to open to the public Friday morning with a showcase of the history of the original professional baseball club spanning from 1869 to the present.
Among the features of the exhibit are the baseballs used for the final out of the 1919 and 1990 World Series, Chris Sabo's 1988 Rookie of the Year plaque (displayed publicly for the first time), Joey Votto's 2010 National League MVP plaque and more.
Part of the exhibit will also be an interactive touchscreen monitor with audio clips from notable Reds personalities.
In addition, a companion film includes rare images, audio and video from various famous moments in Reds history.
Located next to Great American Ball Park, the Reds Hall of Fame & Museum is open during the offseason Tuesday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and seven days a week Opening Day through October with extended hours on game days.
