According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN, the Reds have signed pitcher Jeff Francis to a minor league deal.

Francis suffered from injuries early in his career and posted a 6.27 ERA in 70 innings for the Colorado Rockies last season.

Francis is not expected to make a run at the 2014 rotation, but if Tony Cingrani is held to an innings limit, or if a Reds starter experiences injury issues he could be in the mix for fill-in starts.
