Today the Reds placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Thursday, 3B Scott Rolen (strained left shoulder) and recalled from Class AAA Louisville IF Chris Valaika (#3)…Rolen is the seventh Reds player disabled this season, tied for fourth-most among all Major League teams…3 teams already have had 8 disabled players, while 2 others in addition to the Reds have had 7 players on the DL…in 14 apps for the Bats Valaika hit .306 (1 2b, 1hr, 6rbi, 11g at 2B, 2g at 3B).
Also today, rehabbing OF Fred Lewis (strained right oblique) was transfered from Class AA Carolina to Louisville…Lewis went on the DL the day before Opening Day.
