Robert Stephenson, the first-round pick of the Cincinnati Reds in the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft, could be nearing a return from a strained hamstring that has paused his season at Single-A Dayton.

Stephenson, a 20-year-old from California the Reds took out of high school two years ago, was turning heads as a starter for the Dayton Dragons until suffering the injury setback, but Reds assistant director of media relations Jamie Ramsey reported Monday a positive prognosis for the talented right-hander.

Stephenson is 5-3 with a 2.97 ERA for the Dragons. He has struck out 85 while walking 17 in 12 starts.
