Reds GM Jocketty on Votto's rehab: 'doing great'

Joey Votto missed the majority of the season last year with a distal strain of the quadriceps near his left knee and during an offseason where the Reds may look elsewhere for more offense, getting Votto back healthy for next season wouldn't hurt.

According to Mark Sheldon at mlb.com, Reds general manager Walt Jocketty said Votto is 'doing great' in his rehab.

"Joey is doing great. We're getting good reports," Jocketty said.

Votto hit .255 last season with six homers and 23 RBIs, but never looked fully healthy.

The story also noted that Votto is doing his rehab in Toronto and the Reds strength and conditioning coach Sean Marohn has been checking up on his progress.

Votto, 31, is a career .310 hitter.
