Ali Solis is coming to the Tampa Bay Rays.

The team promoted the catcher from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday to provide depth behind Jose Molina and Ryan Hanigan, who's dealing with soreness in his right hamstring.

In addition, right-handed reliever Alex Colome was optioned to Durham, and left-hander Matt Moore (Tommy John surgery) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list to make room on the 40-man roster.

Solis has played in five major-league games, all with the San Diego Padres in 2012. He went 0 for 4 in the September appearances that year against the Colorado Rockies (one game), Los Angeles Dodgers (one) and San Francisco Giants (three). He has hit .186 with one home run and 12 RBI in 29 games with Durham this season.

Colome allowed two runs and three hits in four innings in a loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.
