Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria is expected to be fully healed for spring training after undergoing foot surgery in November, according to a report.

Longoria had the surgery, which was considered minor, to help with the Morton's neuroma nerve condition on his left foot, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The foot injury hampered Longoria at times last season.

"Every once in a while I take a bad swing and it just acts up," he said last year, according to the Times.

Longoria hit a career-worst .244 last season, with 31 homers and 99 RBI in 133 games.

The surgery was expected to clear any issues for him this year. He was able to begin working out not long after the procedure and was expected to be ready to go for spring training, the Times reported.
