Ravens' Flacco says Manziel is becoming his favorite player
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is becoming enemy No. 1 for Denver Broncos fans after posters with his likeness have been appearing around the Mile High City in preparation for the NFL regular season opener against Peyton Manning and company on Thursday night.
Now Flacco might be gaining a few more haters after his comments on Texas A&M's Heisman-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel becoming his favorite college football player.
"Being hated is not a bad thing," Flacco told USA TODAY Sports. "I don't know if I'll be too popular after this: I (didn't) know how I really felt about Johnny Manziel. But I feel like now that everybody hates him, he's quickly becoming my favorite player in college football."
Flacco never got his chance to be hated in college football after playing for FCS-level University of Delaware in his final two collegiate seasons, but now as one of the NFL's top quarterbacks he may be looking to make up for lost time.
Just don't expect the reigning Super Bowl MVP to be mimicking Manziel's "show me the money" celebration anytime soon.
"No, I'm not going to do anything. It will all be up here. [taps his temple] And I'll keep it all up here," Flacco said. "I'm not going to show anything outwardly."
