This coaching change wouldn't necessarily move a Miami high school football team to the top of the standings, but its halftime shows could certainly soar to the top of the charts.

The CanesInSight.com website, devoted to football news in South Florida, reported Friday that Luther Campbell is the frontrunner to be named head football coach at Miami's Jackson High.

Campbell, 55, is a record label owner and performer who rose to fame as the one-time leader of 2 Live Crew, one of the most successful and controversial rap groups of the 1980s.

He's been a well-publicized fan of the University of Miami football program over the years, and CanesInSight reported he has worked as a defensive coordinator at a pair of Miami schools in recent years.

Jackson High finished 3-6 last year.
