Rangers reach deals with Feliz, Ogando
The Texas Rangers reached deals with right-handers Neftali Feliz and Alexi Ogando Friday, avoiding arbitration with each.
Feliz will make $3 million in 2014 while Ogando, who was arbitration eligible for the first time, is set to make $2.625 million.
The Rangers have just one arbitration-eligible player left in Mitch Moreland. Today is the deadline for the sides to exchange figures.
Feliz was limited to six appearances for the Rangers in 2013 as he was rehabbing from Tommy John surgery in 2012. Feliz, who will go to camp as a reliever, didn't allow a run in those six appearances. Feliz has pitched in the Dominican Winter League this offseason, posting a 2.79 ERA in 10 appearances.
Ogando spent time in both the bullpen and rotation in 2013 and will go to spring training as a starter. Despite three stints on the disabled list in 2013, he went 7-4 with a 3.11 ERA in 104 1/3 innings of work.
