Rangers' Profar has another shoulder setback
SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Texas Rangers second baseman Jurickson Profar continues to have discomfort in his right shoulder and won't start throwing again for another week.
Profar, who originally hurt his shoulder lifting weights, has also been told not to swing a bat for a couple of days.
Texas general manager Jon Daniels still believes Profar will be playing in the field in the second or third week of March. But he also knows there's a timetable for Profar to be ready for the season.
"There's not much room for another setback to get ready for Opening Day," Daniels said.
Profar had a cortisone injection in the shoulder two or three weeks ago.
Daniels said the team isn't looking outside the organization for a backup infielder. Texas has veteran Adam Rosales in camp along with Josh Wilson, Brent Lillibridge and Kensuke Tanaka.
