SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) -- Shin-Soo Choo knows there are expectations for him to set a tone at the top of the Texas Rangers lineup.

He also acknowledged Friday that he'll probably feel some pressure getting started on his new $130 million, seven-year contract.

The 31-year-old outfielder says he will be himself and not try to do too much. He will keep telling himself to "play Shin-Soo Choo style."

That style has been getting on base. He has a .288 career average and .389 on-base percentage in 853 major league games since 2005 for Seattle, Cleveland and Cincinnati. Only Mike Trout and Miguel Cabrera have reached base more that he has the last two seasons.

Choo also has at least 20 homers and 20 stolen bases three times.
