NAPIER, New Zealand (AP) Rain delayed the start of play Thursday in the second one-day international between New Zealand and Pakistan at McLean Park.
The chance of any play seemed slim after almost two days of torrential rain in Napier. At one stage on Wednesday more than 1-1/2 inches of rain fell in less than two hours.
The players had not even arrived at the ground when the toss was scheduled to be made at 1.30pm in the day-night match. The pitch and surrounds were heavily covered and there were several large patches of water around the outfield.
New Zealand leads the three-match series after winning the first match at Wellington by 70 runs.
