(Boca Raton, Fla.) — FOX Sports Florida announced today that they will be featuring the Inaugural High School Clash of Scholar Athletes game on FOXSportsFlorida.com
via Prep Zone, presented by Checkers. Ed Berliner will call the game,
alongside color commentator Keith Sims, and Kavita Channe will be
reporting from the sidelines.
On Saturday,
January 5th at 6:00 pm ET, Prep Zone travels to Boca Raton Community
High School for a showdown between Atlanta All Stars and Palm Beach
County All Stars. This will be the first event of 2013 put on by Prep
& Sports Inc. The mission of Prep & Sports Inc. is to put on
year-round incentive-based events that bring young athletes together,
thereby by encouraging in them the following: academic excellence,
sportsmanship and youth empowerment.
Palm Beach
County All Stars include American Heritage Boca Del Ray’s Roderick
Johnson (OT, Florida commit) and others from American Heritage, as well
as Palm Beach Gardens, Glades Central, and Royal Palm Beach. Atlanta All
Stars include players from Sandy Creek, Carver, Tucker and Lovejoy.
Coaches
for the game will include some former and current NFL players including
Garrison Hearst (former 49ers running back) who will coach Atlanta’s
running backs and Preston Parker (current Buccaneers wide receiver) who
will help coach wide receivers for Palm Beach County.
Not
only will the student athletes participate in the All Star Game and be
coached during the week by professional athletes, but they will also
attend professional seminars presented by financial advisors,
accountants, and lawyers in order to expose the student athletes to a
range of professions. Laura Vivas from the NBC show, The Voice, will be
singing the National Anthem at the start of the game and half time will
feature The Battle of the Bands competition.

All Stars match up.”
