Postponed Stars-Blue Jackets game will be on April 9
The game between the Dallas Stars and the Columbus Blue Jackets from last Monday where Stars center Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench with a cardiac event early in the first period, a game that was later postponed, has been rescheduled for Wednesday April 9 at American Airlines Center.
After collapsing 5:50 into the first period, Peverley was taken to a hallway behind the Dallas bench, where he was quickly revived and then transported to a local hospital. He was released later in the week, attended Stars practice on Thursday and was in attendance for Dallas' 4-3 shootout loss to the Calgary Flames on Friday night at the AAC.
Columbus was leading the game 1-0 when play was halted 6:23 into the first period. The Jackets had struck first on a power-play goal from Nathan Horton, a former teammate of Dallas center Tyler Seguin in Boston.
The game will be played in its entirety but will begin with Columbus up 1-0 with the Horton goal counting. However, any other statistics from that game will not carry forward.
With this game being rescheduled, the Stars will now play the ever-rare home back-to-back, as Dallas will host the Nashville Predators on April 8, the night before the Jackets' return.
Dallas will conclude the home portion of their regular-season schedule on Friday April 11 against the St. Louis Blues.
