HIKO, Nev. (AP) Authorities say a driver died after a rollover crash a little before he reached the finish line of a high-speed, open-highway race through rural Nevada.

Lincoln County Sheriff Kerry Lee says the crash happened during the Silver State Classic Challenge, which takes place on State Route 318 between the tiny towns of Lund and Hiko, Nevada.

Deputies say the crash was reported at about 9 a.m. Sunday in Lincoln County.

Investigators say the 1997 Porsche 993 drifted to the right shoulder on a slight left turn, then rolled off the highway and caught fire.
