Players to watch for on National Signing Day
We’re less than 24 hours away from National Signing Day. UCLA has cleaned up. Heading into Wednesday, the Bruins have the sixth ranked class in the nation, according to Scout.com. With a couple of targets still on the board, the Bruins very well could end up in the top five before all is said and done.
Across town there has been much scrutiny surrounding the USC class. Despite six players decommitting, they still have a top-15 class heading into Wednesday. The Trojans have five 5-star commits, including four of their seven early enrollees.
Here are some local players to watch, who have yet to make their announcement, including a couple of players that could affect both the USC and UCLA recruiting classes.
Narbonne, LB Keishawn Bierria
He’s one of the top linebackers in the West Coast and was the leader of a stingy Narbonne defense that won back-to-back LA City Section titles. His final three choices are Oregon State, Washington, and Arizona State. Just last week at the South Bay BMW West Coast Bowl, Bierria walked around in a Oregon State sweatshirt and said the Beavers were his top school. His teammate at Narbonne, quarterback Troy Williams, is already in Seattle as an early enrollee. The Huskies have built quite a pipeline from Seattle to Harbor City and over the past years have been able to get some surprise Narbonne signatures on Signing Day (See: Sean Parker, Melvin Davis). Bierria will make his announcement on the High

St. John Bosco, OL Nico Falah
Another former USC commit, Falah anchored the offensive line for the Braves who didn’t lose their first game on the field until running into the fog and Long Beach Poly in the PAC-5 semifinals last season. USC is still on his list, but so is Washington. Despite rumors that Falah went to Seattle for an unofficial visit last weekend, he was on the USC campus. He’ll announce his decision on the High

Oaks Christian, LB Cameron Judge
Oaks Christian first-year head coach Jeff Woodruff, who’s spent the majority of his coaching career in the college ranks, said Judge was one of the most cerebral players he’s ever coached. Judge will decide between UCLA, Arizona State, and Oregon. He’s been a soft UCLA commit but the Sun Devils are making a hard push. Head coach Todd Graham was reportedly in town for an in-home visit last week. Judge will also make his announcement on the High School Spotlight: Signing Day Special on Wednesday at 3 p.m. on FOX Sports West and FOXSportsWest.com.
Placer DT Eddie Vanderdoes
Although he’s not local, the top flight NorCal recruit can have a huge impact with L.A.’s Pac-12 schools. Vanderdoes was once a USC commit. The 5-star recruit is a top-10 player in the nation according to Scout.com. He’s now seriously considering UCLA, Alabama, Notre Dame, Washington, and the Trojans. Vanderdoes took an official visit to Alabama over the weekend. It may be tough to turn down Nick Saban’s championship rings but UCLA is making a big push and when he makes his announcement on Wednesday at 5 p.m., Westwood could certainly be his destination.
