GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Billionaire booster T. Boone Pickens says Oklahoma State should receive first-place votes in The Associated Press poll if the Cowboys romp past Stanford and Alabama knocks off No. 1 LSU in the BCS championship game.
Speaking before the Fiesta Bowl on Monday night, Pickens said that a win by No. 3 Oklahoma State over No. 4 Stanford followed by a Crimson Tide victory on Jan. 9 in New Orleans would make things murky for the BCS.
Alabama, Oklahoma State and Stanford all have one loss, but the Crimson Tide earned a rematch against LSU in the BCS title game, edging the Cowboys by .0086 points in the BCS standings.
