Phil Mickelson had everything working for him Friday morning at the Ryder Cup when he and fellow American Keegan Bradley bested Europe's paring of Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia, until Lefty's bro-hug game failed him.
Mickelson clumsily led with his right arm as Bradley meandered right by him, shaking it out with Phil's caddy Jim Mackay instead.

The PGA is right: Tom Brady knows that pain well.
After taking a full point against McIlroy-Garcia, the Mickelson-Bradley pairing quickly went three down to Victor Dubuisson and Graeme McDowell but cut the deficit by two-thirds heading to the back nine.
Redemption awaits Phil, who may just be better at the arm-over embrace.
