Phelps wins 100 butterfly in Arena Pro Swim Series event

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Michael Phelps won the 100-meter butterfly race Friday night in an Arena Pro Swim Series event.
Preparing for his fifth and final Olympics, the 30-year-old Phelps finished in 51.94 seconds. He won the gold medal in the event in the 2012 Olympics in London.
Phelps was sixth in the 100 freestyle, an event won by Nathan Adrian in 48.91. Adrian also won the event in the London Olympics.
Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom won the women's 100 freestyle in 53.12 and the 100 butterfly in 56.38, the best times ever in the United States.

Katie Ledecky won the 400 freestyle in 3:59.54, the fifth-best time ever. The 18-year-old American holds the world record and seven of the top eight times.
