Peterson to appear Thursday on 'The League'
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — As he nears the NFL's single-season rushing record, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is everywhere these days, from magazines, newspapers and radio to TV talk shows and highlight shows.
On Thursday night, he takes on a sitcom nearly as flawlessly as he does NFL defenses.
Peterson is set to appear on Thursday's episode of "The League" on FX, starring as one of the NFL's stars: himself. In a teaser clip, Peterson is approached by the one of the series' main actors in a small restaurant. Peterson says he is visiting his girlfriend in Chicago.
"It was fun," Peterson said earlier Thursday during his weekly interview session with Vikings reporters. "I had a good time. My girlfriend on the show, she was hot. It was a good opportunity for me."
Peterson, who leads the NFL with 1,812 rushing yards this season and is chasing Eric Dickerson's single-season record of 2,105 rushing yards set in 1984, isn't new to acting cameos, having appeared on HBO's "Entourage" in 2010.
"The League" is based on a group of friends and their involvement in their fantasy football league and everyday lives. It's not the first time Peterson has interacted with fantasy football owners, whether they're real or actors. Peterson has said in the past that he's often received feedback from fantasy football owners through his Twitter account.
