After reaching second base on a double during a baseball game on Monday, a 17-year-old high school player sprung into action to help save a man's life -- the home plate umpire.

Mike Brodzinski is a student at Academy Park High School in Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania and a volunteer firefighter for the Folcroft Borough Darby Fire Company.

The company shared the story of the teen's heroics on its Facebook page, explaining that after he reached second base, Brodzinski noticed the umpire had collapsed and so he immediately rushed over and began performing CPR. Brodzinski continued until an ambulance and medical personnel arrived at the scene.
