Pelicans sign G Bob McCalebb, waive G Corey Webster

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The New Orleans Pelicans have signed guard Bo McCalebb, who starred for New Orleans in college and has spent seven years playing professionally overseas.

In a corresponding move, announced Thursday, the Pelicans have waived guard Corey Webster of New Zealand.

The 6-foot McCalebb most recently played for Bayern Munich in Germany. Since going unselected in the 2008 NBA draft, he also has played in Turkey, Serbia and Italy.

In Europe, McCalebb has played for five league championship teams. He was named most valuable player of the Italian League in 2012, when he also led the Euroleague in scoring.

In college, the New Orleans native posted career at averages of 20.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists and remains UNO's all-time scoring leader.
