Pelicans Ryan Anderson on pace to join elite group
The New Orleans Pelicans Ryan Anderson has been making up for the time he lost with a chipped toe at the beginning of the season, offensively carrying New Orleans game after game since his return.
As the team's leading scorer, he's averaging 20.1 points per game in addition to 6.4 rebounds and 3.1 three-pointers per game.
That's not just impressive to the Pelicans franchise, but to the entire league.
Only 2 players in NBA history have ever finished a season with averages close to what Anderson sports now.
When Jason Richardson played for the Charlotte Bobcats in 2007and Peja Stojakovic played for the Sacramento Kings in 2003, both wrapped up their seasons by writing their names in the NBA history book with averages of at least 15 points per game, 5 rebounds per game and 3 three-pointers per game.
If Anderson can pull his current success through mid-April, he'll join some elite company.
