NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans was helped off the court after rolling his left ankle Friday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Pelicans officials say he has a left ankle sprain and is unable to return.
The injury occurred with a little more than 2 minutes remaining in the third quarter. Evans was driving hard toward the basket when he appeared to take an awkward step while trying to sidestep the Thunder's Kevin Durant.
Evans missed the layup and went down on the baseline, lying there several minutes before being helped to the locker room.
Evans avoided putting any pressure on his left leg.
