OGDEN, Utah -- After leading the Northern Arizona women in points, rebounds, assists and steals, junior guard Amy Patton was named to the All-Big Sky second team for the third time in as many seasons on Monday.
Patton finished fifth in the conference in scoring at 14.6 points per game while also averaging 6.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists. She was one of three Lumberjacks to play in every game this season.
Patton becomes just the third player in NAU program history to be a three-time All-Big Sky honoree. The two others, Alyssa Wahl and Jess LeBlanc, are the only players to have scored more career points than Patton, who is just 12 points behind LeBlanc and 280 points shy of surpassing Wahl to become NAU’s all-time scoring leader.
Patton scored in double figures in 24 of 29 games this season, including nine 20-point games. She also had three double-doubles and recorded a career-high eight assists to go with 23 points and 14 rebounds in NAU’s Big Sky opener at Sacramento State. She had at least one steal in all but two games, finishing with a team-high 57 steals. Patton also led the team in free-throw makes and attempts and was second with 37 made 3-pointers.
Her career scoring average of 16.5 points per game is second in team history, while she is also now third in career field goals and 3-pointers. Patton’s 598 career rebounds are fifth in program history, and she is ninth in career steals. If she maintains her season scoring and rebounding averages, Patton will become the program’s all-time leader in both categories during her senior season.
