DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) Patriotic Diamond rallied from far back to win the $150,000 Generous Portion Stakes for California-bred 2-year-old fillies by 1 1/4 lengths Friday at Del Mar.
Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Patriotic Diamond ran six furlongs in 1:11.05 and paid $5.80, $3.60 and $2.80 as the 9-5 second choice. She won for the first time, having finished second in her career debut on Aug. 15 for trainer Patrick Biancone.
Google Me returned $11.80 and $7.20 at 19-1 odds, while Later My Love was another 4 3/4 lengths back in third and paid $4.60 to show.
The victory, worth $85,500, increased Patriotic Diamond's career winnings to $99,500.
