Parise to headline charity hockey game
One positive to come out of the NHL lockout is the ability of players to participate in charity games.
Defending the Blue Line announced Thursday that it will host an NHL Players Charity Game and Jersey Auction on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at Mariucci Arena on the University of Minnesota campus.
Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise will headline the event, with additional players being announced every Friday on KFAN. Game worn jerseys will be autographed and auctioned off after the game.
Tickets for the event are $20 in advance and $30 at the door. Tickets will go on sale on Oct. 8 at www.mygophersports.com.
If the NHL lockout is resolved prior to the game, Defending the Blue Line reserves the right to provide an alternate game or convert the ticket sales money into a charitable donation.
Defending the Blue Line’s mission is to ensure that children of military members are afforded every opportunity to participate in the game of hockey.
