Packers earn their way into playoffs

No one can say the Packers backed into the playoffs. Green Bay defeated two of the premier teams in the NFC on successive Sundays at Lambeau Field to nail down the last wild card spot, knocking off the Bears in a classic, grueling NFC North struggle 10-3 Sunday at Lambeau Field, a week after defeating the Giants there. Green Bay will play at Philadelphia next Sunday at 3:30 CST in the opening round of the NFL tournament.
And the Packers did not beat a Chicago JV team, a scenario many fans expected. Bears coach Lovie Smith made good on his word. Despite the fact that his team had nothing to gain by winning today, Smith did just as he promised earlier in the week, playing all of his starters for the entire game. Quarterback Jay Cutler was in there swinging until the closing seconds when his pass was intercepted by Nick Collins at the Packers 11-yard line to seal Green Bay
