Oshawa beats Quebec 5-4 in OT in Memorial Cup

QUEBEC CITY (AP) Defenseman Stephen Desrocher scored at 18:07 of overtime to give the Ontario Hockey League champion Oshawa Generals a 5-4 victory over the host Quebec Remparts on Sunday in the Memorial Cup.

Oshawa's Tobias Lindberg forced extra time with a one-timer from close range on a power play with 2:09 left in regulation. Michael McCarron, Michael Dal Colle and Dakota Mermis also scored for Oshawa, 2-0 after opening Saturday night with a 4-3 victory over Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champion Rimouski

Dmytro Timashov scored twice, and Raphael Maheux and Ryan Graves added goals for Quebec (1-1). The Remparts beat Western Hockey League champion Kelowna 4-3 on Friday night in the tournament opener.

Rimouski will play Kelowna on Monday night, Oshawa will meet Kelowna on Tuesday night, and Quebec will face Rimouski on Wednesday night in the final-round robin game.
