Orlando City's early goal leads them to victory over NYCFC

NEW YORK (AP) -- Cyle Larin scored an early goal and Orlando City held on to beat New York City FC 1-0 on Friday night for their first win at Yankee Stadium.

Larin scored in the 7th minute, with an assist from Rafael Ramos, for his third goal in as many games this season. Larin was last season's rookie of the year and scored a MLS rookie-record 17 goals.

David Villa's bicycle kick shot over the net in the 68th minute for New York City FC (1-1-1). Villa had his fifth MLS career multiple-goal game on Sunday in NYCFC's 2-2 tie against Toronto FC.

Steven Mendoza's shot hit the right post in the 73rd minute, and Andrea Pirlo missed the top right corner from a direct free kick in the first minute of second half stoppage time for NYCFC.

Goalkeeper Joe Bendik had six saves for Orlando City (1-0-2).
