Orioles rookie pitcher Wright helped a guy change a flat tire, gave him tickets to a game
Baltimore Orioles rookie pitcher Mike Wright ascended to the big leagues this season but it sounds like he's still got AAA chops, too.
While walking home from Camden Yards on Sunday night, Wright spotted a guy struggling to jack up his car and replace a flat tire when he sprung into action.
“He was there trying to crank it up and he was obviously struggling,” Wright told the Baltimore Sun's Eddie Encina. “I went down there and helped him jack it up, helped him loosen up a few bolts. It just took about 20 minutes.”
The full-service traveling good guy didn't stop here -- he also offered the guy tickets to an Orioles game.
“He was obviously having a bad day so after I helped him fix it, I told him he could come to a game whenever he wanted so he’s coming to the game [Tuesday],” Wright said. “I left him tickets, so hopefully him and his girlfriend can enjoy the game.”
Pretty cool move by the rookie, who's posted a 5.45 ERA in eight starts for the O's this season, along with a 2.33 mark and a 9-1 record for Triple-A Norfolk.
