Oregon sweeps NCAA indoor track and field championships
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) Oregon swept the men's and women's NCAA indoor track and field championships.
Behind Edward Cheserek's three titles, the Ducks easily won their third consecutive men's title Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex with 62 points, followed by Arkansas (39) and Tennessee (34).
The women's team scored 53 points, with Arkansas second with 50 points and Georgia third with 45.
Cheserek won the 3,000 meters for the fourth consecutive year. He finished in 8 minutes, 40 seconds.
Cheserek also won the 5,000 on Friday and was part of the winning distance medley relay team.
Teammate Devon Allen won the 60 in 7.56.
The women's team has won six of the last seven championships, finishing second to Arkansas last season.
Raevyn Rogers won the 800 on Saturday in 2:04.68.
