On Fire Baby take Golden Rod at Churchill Downs

On Fire Baby led from the starts and pulled away in the stretch for a 6 1/4-length victory in the $169,350 Golden Rod at Churchill Downs on Saturday.

Favored in the field of 10, On Fire Baby returned $7.40, $4.40 and $3.40. Goldrush Girl was second and paid $19.60 and $9.20. Back Spin returned $11.40 to show.

Trained by Gary Hartlage and ridden by Joe Johnson, the daughter of Smoke Glacken became the seventh horse to sweep Churchill's fall meet stakes for juvenile fillies. She won the Grade 3 Pocahontas in her last start.

On Fire Baby covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:45.98, and won for the third time in four starts.
