Oklahoma to face Clemson in Russell Athletic Bowl

In a season where Oklahoma started ranked No. 4, the Sooners will finish with a trip to the Russell Athletic Bowl.

OU will take on Clemson at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 29  In Orlando, Fla.

Clemson is 9-3 and went 6-2 in the ACC, losing to Florida State in overtime and at Georgia Tech. The Tigers also lost at Georgia in their season opener. They finished the season with a 35-17 victory over in-state rival South Carolina.

Clemson's defensive coordinator is Brent Venables, who was a defensive coordinator at Oklahoma from 1999-2011.

Oklahoma is 8-4 and lost three times at home, the first time that's happened since coach Bob Stoops took over in 1999. OU lost to Oklahoma State Saturday, 38-35 in overtime.
