Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart has been named a preseason All-American by Sporting News magazine and is featured on the cover of the 2013-14 College Basketball Magazine.
Smart, a sophomore from Flower Mound, Texas, is on the first team along with Creighton senior Doug McDermott, sophomore Mitch McGary of Michigan, freshmen Jabari Parker of Duke and freshman Andrew Wiggins of Kansas.
The magazine also had the Cowboys ranked preseason No. 10.
Smart averaged 15.4 points per game last year for the Cowboys. He shot 40 percent from the field and also averaged 4.2 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game.
