OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma City police are holding a news conference to discuss the death of Chesapeake Energy founder Aubrey McClendon, whose body was found in a burning car beneath a rural turnpike two weeks ago.
It appeared McClendon's SUV hit a bridge support at high speed the morning after a federal grand jury indicted the former Chesapeake executive on a bid-rigging charge. Police said then that they hoped to use the vehicle's data recorder to explain what happened before the crash.
McClendon was a part-owner of the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder. He was accused of rigging gas lease bids.
