LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) Jalen Washington had a game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth inning to push Ohio State past Wright State 7-6 on Friday in the opening game of the Louisville Regional.

Ronnie Dawson singled in the tying run two batters earlier for the Buckeyes (44-18) before scoring the game-winner as Washington drove a bases-loaded, two-out pitch deep to center field and just over the glove of Zach Weatherford.

Dawson knocked in three runs and scored twice for Ohio State, which faces the winner of Friday's second game between top-seeded Louisville and No. 4 seed Western Michigan in the NCAA Tournament. Kyle Michalik pitched 1 2/3 innings for the victory.

Ohio State led 5-0 after two-run doubles by Dawson and Troy Montgomery and an RBI single by Jacob Bosiokovic in the bottom of the third. Montgomery finished with four hits.
