Ohio State football players pay respects to TV anchor who lost daughter
Longtime Columbus TV sports anchor Dom Tiberi lost his 21-year-old daughter, Maria, in a car accident earlier this month.
After Ohio State's win over Wisconsin last Saturday, Tiberi was waiting near the Buckeyes locker room for his postgame duties. The Ohio State players started walking by, and one by one they started hugging Tiberi. It kept going, and a nearby cameraman captured it.
Attached is WBNS 10-TV's video.
Ohio State honored Maria with a moment of silence before its Sept. 21 game, and Ohio State coach Urban Meyer attended her funeral two days later. Both Meyer and the Tiberis live in the Columbus suburb of Dublin. It's possible that some Ohio State players knew Maria.
In this video, almost all of them stop to pay respects to her father.
Pay attention to the sound in the background, too. Like the rest of the video, it might give you chills.
