The state of Ohio is among a small group of U.S. states filling the majority of the NFL's talent pool.

Jamie Newberg of Scout.com gives an excellent and comprehensive breakdown of states producing the most NFL draft picks over the past three years.

Florida, Texas, California, Georgia and Ohio have produced 51.6 of the league's draftees in that time.

Ohio comes in at fifth on that list with 38 players and ninth in the country per capita at 3.27

South Carolina, home of No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney, had the highest per capita rate, while New Mexico came in last among the eligible states.

Football is alive and well across the country and especially in the Buckeye State.
